Commuter fun

I keep telling people how much I hate my commute because it is too long and annoying and frustrating and expensive. But I realized what my real issue with my commute is that I keep over looking. People are the reason my commute sucks so much. I would have no issue shelling out $3.50 to park and $47.50 a month for my pass and $30 right now for ( Read more... )

ok that is just silly. First off that would be way more expensive for me to get a commuter rail pass. Then I would still have to deal with the red line but I would be lucky if I could get standing room at South Station. and I would have to worry about catching the right commuter rail and at the right time and timing the red line to it. It would just be more of a pain in the ass for my commute.

there for since it already sucks why make it a pain in the ass as well. If I were working at South Station again of course I would be taking the commuter rail instead of the red line that would be a no brainer even with the cost but alas I am not.

Thanks anyway for the advise.

subtract the 30 a week you spend on gas and you save money in getting a monthly pass for the commuter rail. plus, the red line runs every 10 minutes, so you don't have to time that up.

Actually, you can get a combo commuter rail AND subway pass and save money (and they are tax deductable).

Then, once you get on the commie rail, just switch to the red line at south station, and vice versa. You work at Harvard, so you can get off right at Harvard Square.

OR, if you're near the orange line, or any green line, which I'm pretty positive you're not, just switch to the red line at Park st.

ok the commuter rail is just as far as the red line to me so I would be using the same amount of gas. It isn't the red line that would be the issue I know how the red line runs it would be getting back to south station at the right time to catch the commuter rail back to my car ( ... )
