The Future isn't in the Future.
The Future is already here.
A few years ago we would look into the future and wonder when the future will arrive.
These days, it would seem the future is already here.
Before we knew it, our display screens were replaced with LCDs.
Our cars have SONAR (SOund Navigation And Ranging).
We have Robots at home.
The Quantum Processor has been created, which processes calculations in other dimensions (parallel universes).
Holographic Versatile Cards (HVCs) have been created, capable of storing Gigabytes on a transparent material.
We have buildings which look like they're from the future.
We have LED signs on our roads.
We have 7-11 stores inside our buildings, paving the path for future arcologies (self-contained cities).
Sure we could say the future is when there're flying cars or spaceships, but aren't all these above, "The Future" a few years ago as well? How time flies - next thing you know, the past that you once knew is going away. But then again, you can always count on the 'future' to be the past one day too :)
