[Since Katara is dragging him around to help rescue people, Sokka splits off to check up on one of his closest friends and the house that happens to be, well, lacking in skilled fighters. Sokka manages to cut down the weak enemies relatively easy and nearly goes for the bird until he recognizes it as Fenimore's. A cursory scan around the area finds Fenimore herself in the water. The way she's sitting there is not good and he starts to wade into the water himself.]
[Grune keeps forgetting her garden has disappeared. The number of times she's wandered outside today alone to do some weeding, then wandered back inside upon discovering her garden has gone on an adventure probably shouldn't be counted.
However, this time, she reemerges right afterwards, a peach for Ques in hand. Only once she's fed the adoring bird does she notice Fenimore sitting in the river.]
[Even Grune can't miss that. She walks over to stand at the edge of the river and frowns a little, trying to get a look at her face.] Fenimore? Are you all right?
[Being no stranger to rushing into these new zones when they appear, Adell's quick to investigate this new area... and finds it surprisingly calm. He hears the sounds of the fight between the bird and a hologram and comes running just in time for the bird to claim victory.]
Well. Haven't seen that happen before...
[And that's when he catches sight of Fenimore sitting in the river.]
[If a bird could look smug, that bird would at Adell's surprise.
Meanwhile, Fenimore stirs a little at his voice, but doesn't look up. She knows he's probably addressing her with that "huh," but maybe if she doesn't acknowledge him, he'll give up.]

[Moses is, of course, attracted to a piece of home. It surprises him to see a bird but even more to see Fenimore sitting in the middle of the river.]
Fenimore? [He moves to wade into the river, sitting on the bank and setting aside the drawn spear he had been carrying. None of the creatures around here will give him trouble.]
You okay there? These things haven't been hurtin' you, have they?
[She frowns, even if that wouldn't be visible for him.
Flatly:] A fish. [...Well, sort of. There is a small fish nibbling at her toes, but it doesn't fall under "monster." Rather, it falls under "very confused Luceti fish."]
[The bird looks up at him and chirps back, probably something like "no, it's all good, mate," and whistles what is presumably "thanks." While it can probably speak in a way to be understood by regular people like most Luceti animals, he's never really gotten into the habit of it.
But since Fenimore's back is turned to him, she doesn't realize he's talking to her pet.] No.

Oh, hello, Fenimore! Isn't it a lovely day?

Less so from Fenimore.]
Yeah. [She sounds so enthused. Also, she's not even looking at it. Maybe her knees are lovely.]

Fenimore? Hey, you're not hurt or anything are you?
[Because man, she's acting weird. Sitting around like this at a time like this.]

[She sounds pretty listless, and she still doesn't move.]

Meanwhile the bird is making a gesture oddly reminiscent of a person flexing their muscles while trilling. He's got this, bro.]
