I'm super bored so here, have a fanfiction meme. Stolen from
littlblackghost 1. How about a brief introduction of yourself?
Hello there. Nice to meet you *waves* My name's Lennie, and this is my blog.
2. And what got you into fanfiction to begin with?
My best buddy was on DeviantArt at the time, and told me to join up. So I did, and found out about fanfiction after endless hours of randomly browsing through the site. Needless to say, it freaked me out at first, but I got into it after a little while.
3. What kind of fanfiction do you like to write?
I have a problem where I can't let my characters be happy. Just can't do it. More angst, seperation, death and betrayal than you can shake a stick at.
4. Do you tend to write the same pairings/characters? Or are you a fandom whore?
Nope. Complete fandom whore. At the last count, I have over 20 pairings that I read/write on a regular basis. I have no life.
5. What is your most popular fanfic and why do you think people like it so?
I don't know, but I think it's Welcome to the Family. I don't know why people like it. Maybe they just like gore.
6. Forget other people...what is the fanfic you've written that you're most proud of?
It's actually something I've been working on for a little while, and is currently lounging in my Documents folder, begging to be finished.
7. Do you find writing easy? Hard? What are the most difficult aspects of writing?
It all depends really. If I'm in the right mood, I can write for hours on end. I think the most difficult part of writing is actually hashing out a plotline and fleshing out the story and all the characters. Coming up with a title also sucks.
8. Write a few sentences or so of your favorite pairing or character.
Um, I can't actually choose a favourite! They're all amazing.
9. Are there any fanfiction trends/cliches that you're sick of?
Um, I really hate Dom/Sub stuff, which is a pretty huge genre in a few of my fandoms. I also dislike mpreg of any kind, and anything written in the first person. Literally cannot read that. Also, insta!love makes me want to hurl. Or a character acting OOC or super feminine. No, just no. Nothing can make me click out of a fic faster.
10. Are you guilty of any of these? Or have you committed other crimes?
Nope, none of the above. It makes me gag.
11. What was the first fandom you wrote for? Do you continue to like/participate in it?
Bandom, and not really. I drifted away from it quite a while ago.
12. Name your OTPs or most frequently written pairings/characters and explain what it is about them that you love to write.
My main OTP is probably Arthur/Eames from Inception or Derek/Stiles in the Teen Wolf fandom. I just like their dynamics, and the way they interact with each other, whether in a relationship or not.
13. What would you call your writing "style"?
I don't really have one I guess. I'm pretty big on description though.
14. Do you read other people's fanfics? If so, what do you find yourself reading the most?
Duh! At the minute, I'm reading a lot of HBO War fandom and Teen Wolf. I love fics that are over 10,000 words, with well fleshed out characters and a believable universe.
15. Name one thing you'd LOVE to write but haven't yet.
Um, maybe a HBO War AU fic? I'm not sure.
16. Do you have trouble taking criticism? Or worse yet, do you have a really bloated ego?
I think that criticism is wonderful, as long as it's constructive. I mean, you can't use criticism as an excuse to be an asshole. And you can't just point out everything you hate about the fic. That's pretty harsh.
I don't have a bloated ego at all. I know that my writing isn't perfect, and that I have a lot to learn.
17. When you write is there anything that helps? Music? Quiet room?
Sometimes I listen to music to give me ideas. I like to outline the basic plot first in a notebook, and then go from there.
18. What inspires you?
Lyrics, quotes, scenes from movies, hell even dreams. It all depends really.
19. Lastly, how would you sum up your fanfiction experiences and yourself as a writer?
To be honest, my experiences have been pretty awesome so far. I mean, there's always gonna be a few cons but the pros outweight them 10 to 1.
