Avenged Sevenfold - I Won't See You Tonight (Part One)
I have known about A7X for a long time, but I didn't really get into them until I recieved the Kerrang! CD last year. You know the one - best tracks from this year. Because among the much adored but over-played Wings of a Butterfly, the pop punk tunes of Fall Out Boy and Blink... there was this. Everything a chick could ever want from a fuckin' ROCK BAAAAND. Yummy vocals, thumping dream beats, absolutely MIND-BLOWING solos, long songs, warped lyrics, beautiful melodious alongside searing noise... These men are Gods. I hadn't felt this way about a band since MCR. And that's frickin' saying something. And yanno what, through all the times I have played that first song (Bat Country) I'm not tired of it. Because of all the changes through out each and every tune, it's impossible to get tired of an A7X song!
But this is something else entirely. This made me shed tears when I first heard it. Simply stunning. Solos and vocals and THAT guitar solo... just... that chorus has been in my head for three solid days.
Didn't help that my dad said they sounded like Whitesnake.....
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Tell Me Baby
Technically this should be Can't Stop, considering my little headbanging/air guitar/rabid jumping act at a church dance which got me a kiss from a hottie. But alas - nothing beats Tell Me Baby. We decided that the Chilli's can't make a bad video, but TMB is perhaps the best. Wannabes from all over America get to play with the band. THE band. Can you imagine that? Struggling through the music buisness for years and then you get the opportunity to play with these hoes? It helps that the song is catchier than flu.
AFI - Summer Shudder
Just look at that title. Imagine the song equivalent of punk!summer. Add some bouncing around in a field and maybe some sparkling lemonade.
You have Summer Shudder.
TOTAL SUMMER SOUND TRACK, BEECHES.
Muse - Supermassive Black Hole
A euphymysm for overuse of anal sex it may be... but still, catchy as hell. It reached number one in Woolworths. A ROCK band reached number one.
Feel the Devon pride, baby...
Lovex - Bullet For The Pain
I totally just discovered this band. And they're awesome. I <3 HIM and I <3 Negative so this totally works for me. If you want DAMN hot Finns singing happy-go-lucky-depression songs this is for you.
Children of Bodom - Are You Dead Yet?
I have to admit I was sceptical at first. CoB were the heavy metal band, and I have an inbuilt reaction to fear heavy metal bands... But one day, while feeling particularly emo on holiday, I threw caution to the wind and picked this baby off my MP3 player.
My reaction was something along the lines of OMFG!11!!ONE!!O___o!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Melodious rock. That's the only way I can put it... such beautiful melodious within such fuckin HARDCORE riffs.
Worship the Finns. Worship them.
