all this time I can't believe I couldn't see
kept in the dark but you were there in front of me
I’ve been sleeping a thousand years it seems
got to open my eyes to everything
without a thought without a voice without a soul
don't let me die here
there must be something more
Jay was walking back from the surf shop, buying wax for his surf board. He was planning on taking Ellie surfing tomorrow. She still seemed a bit down.
Ellie was in a taxi, she was heading down to the train station to make sure her father was still scheduled to arrive in the next two weeks. She saw Jay walking alone and told taxi driver to slow down.
"Jay!" She called from the window.
"El?" He walked up to the taxi.
"Get in" She opened the door for him. It was a silent ride. Something was obviously on Jay's mind.
Ellie put her hand on Jay's shoulder. "Whats the matter?" She looked at him concerned. He told her about his mom, but it seemed like there was more on his mind.
He didn't say anything again for awhile and she figured that he must not have heard her, finally he spoke. "I can't deal with seeing him with Heather"
"Gavin you mean.." she said softly. She was unaware of what was going on between Spinner and Heather.
He grunted and crossed his arms.
Ellie bite her lip. "You don't deserve this."
"It just..it fucking hurts okay" he looked out the window, unable to meet her eyes.
"I know." She whispered.
"I finally think I met someone who loves me for me...fuck it all" he put a hand through his hair.
"Do you love her?"
He nodded. "Doesn't matter now, she can have that asshole for all I care." but Ellie could tell he was hurting to say that.
She took his hand. "Maybe you haven't found what you are looking for"
He turned over to her and looked at their hands, he squeezed her hand lightly.
"Thanks Diddy" He smiled.
She smiled back at him and looked into his eyes, he met her gaze. Words didn't need to be spoken, again they were back in that moment.
