Okay, I hate babies. I hate pregnancy fic. But, I had to read this because it's you and I am so glad I did.
You go from the sweet:
Furniture companies just don’t make pieces appropriate for three men who love each other, especially when one of them is as big as Finn.
To the funny:
“Yep!” Finn withdraws his hands from Kurt and flops onto his back to pat his belly. “Fill me up, Scotty!”
Kurt groans. “Damn it. I’ll never get it up again.”
Blaine pokes at Kurt’s side. “Liar.”
Despite the... impossible due to the limitations of biology and science scenario, you kept all three of them so well in character. It was easy, and lovely, and mirrored the fact they are family just so beautifully. Lovely job, dear. Your writing is so succinct, and you are wonderful at showing without telling.
Aw, darling! Thanks so much for reading despite your reservations! I guess mpreg is like it's own subculture in fandom, because people either love it or hate it. I'm often inspired by the prompts on the gleempreg comm, so you may see more. Don't feel obligated to read, but I do love your feedback. For example:
you are wonderful at showing without telling.
It's like, you see what I'm trying to do and then you point it out and appreciate it and then I am sooo happy in my face. \o/
I must admit, I am a sucker for the family aspect of it. It's mostly just a turn-off for me because I have read so much where the guys are compartmentalised into female roles and no. Carrying a baby does not make Kurt 'the girl'.
This story certainly doesn't suffer from that problem. <3
(Though really, I am curious to see a sequel where Finn gets knocked up. Because oh, the humour potential.)
I don't read a ton of mpreg (mostly just my fiancee-in-Glee, ladydreamer's) so I haven't really read any in which the pregnant guy takes on the girl role. That sounds lame.
Oh, gosh. I've considered a sequel to this, but I'm not sure what the plot would be. We'll see, I guess. I am working on another OT3 fic though in which Finn gets knocked up, so you may see that at some point. (SPOILER ALERT)
OMC this was so adorable! Totally not what i expected, but even more amazing! I love how you captured the characters and the chemistry between them is AMAZING! And so many surprises in such a short time. Poor Blaine, so confused :) And I could marry your Kurt, he's so awesome. I loved it, the plot, the writing EVERYTHING! You're a genius <3
Oh and this : Kurt had very explicitly told everyone that they were not to call his furious home renovations “nesting.”
I have no idea why, but made my giggle so much and feel a bond with Kurt. silly ppl and their labels :P
Oh, darling! I'm so glad you liked it! You are so sweet. :") Characterization and chemistry are two things that I strive so hard to execute properly, so it really makes me flail a bit to know that they worked for you. <333
Comments (especially awesome ones like this one from people I adore) are like gifts. Thank you!
