Fan fiction. I remember writing fan fiction at university. We all wrote fan fiction, although we didn't call it that. It was plot driven, character driven, usually slotting in around the sides of episodes we had already seen. It was all about the science fiction ( Read more... )

When I was at university we didn't use the internet - I recall the first internet terminal we had at university, the first email addresses that were issued. Very few people had email addresses those first few years.

i'm only a few months older than you - i remember thinking the whole '@' business seemed SO odd! 'At what?' I thought, what does that even MEAN?

Remember when Terminator seemed ridiculous? The very idea of computers all linking together without wires connecting them...

We had a dot-matrix printer and the most sophisticated spreadsheet software was... well, how annoying, I can't remember the name of it... wasn't excel though...

I was never into fanfiction until I discovered it on the net - the old skool way sounds kinda cool - you don't still haven any of the 'books' do you?
