-_- i (and im sure other foreigners who live in Japan as well) REALLY HATE IT when other foreigners go around Japan doing stupidass things, whether it be for a gameshow or not. some people who happen to be foreigners do something obnoxious, stupid, or anything else that draws people`s attention and it`s seen as a "those stupid foreigners" thing rather than a "those stupid people" thing by many. as a result, this damages the image of all foreigners who live in Japan, even if the perpetrators were just tourists passing through. =_=; not only do the stupid ppl (who happen to be foreigners) who do that stuff piss me off, but of course it really irks me that Japanese ppl tend to reason/feel this way ( ... )

good point... which is where I think so many people pinpoint exactly when they say Japanese people are racist... erm.. "nationalist?"

Seems like that gameshow knew exactly what would happen when they designed that game. A lot of the comments made by the hosts were of the "haha, we knew that would happen, but we did it anyway"-variety. Just reinforcing those stereotypes.

They have American tv in Japan?? Wow, well I guess I shouldn't be too shocked, but still... awesome. I can't imagine cable is cheap though... not for what we get paid. Are these channels like a straight-broadcast of like ABC or NBC or something... or like a mish-mash of "this is what's popular in American right now" (accuracy not guarenteed, haha)?

the cost depends on what company you get your cable from and possibly where in Japan you are, so i can`t really quote any prices, but mine isnt really expensive. i get basic cable from a local company and it`s about 35$/mo ( ... )
