Warning: Disgusting Puppy Squees Ahead

Sep 07, 2006 14:35

I promised myself I would not be the type of pet owner who called their pets "fur-babies" and whipped out pictures for everyone and drank from the same water bottle.

I'm sorry; I had to break at least one of those promises. I'm just going to get this out of my system and I'll be good for the next six months or so.

This is way back in March, the night we got them. If you can recall, Maki has the stripe down his forehead and Sashi has buggy eyes. See how thier eyes took over their faces. To date, Sashi's eyes are still buggy and over-sized. One puppy could fit on each thigh comfortably.

I would like to say for the record that the sweaters were only because it was snowing and they shivered when they went for their walk. Maki loved his sweater; Sashi hated hers. BabySister wanted to get Sashi something pink; I beat her with a cowhoof.

This is post neutering/spaying. Sashi was just outcold. Also, she hated us. Maki wanted to move but his hindlegs were still numb so he dragged his behind around for a minute before surrendering to the doggy-dope.

When I write, I often put a towel or bed in the office so I can keep an eye on the two little monsters. They fight over the towel, I order them to stop, thye fight over the toys, I order them to stop. Rinse, Repeat until they fall asleep. This particular day, they were being excellent (minimal fighting, no indoor piddling) so I took some photos. Sashi woke up in the middle of it all and mugged for the camera. Yes, that belly-up thing was her idea. Little diva. Maki just glanced up once in a while and went back to more important things: sleep.

Here's Maki demonstrating his favourite resting position: the Chicken Leg. We like to grab his hindlegs, squeeze his fat thighs and sing-song "Mmmm! Breaded drumsticks! Adobo! Honey-rosemary barbeque!" Sashi's favourite resting position isn't a position so much as a space-- all areas under the couches are her domain.

This is them as of three weeks ago. I got paranoid about them getting lost so I had to make mugshots. Maki was trying to eat something because he's a little *cough* special and likes to eat everything. If it fits in his mouth, he'll tyr to eat it; heck, if he can get a piece of it in hsi mouth, he'll gnaw like mad. Sashi is posing, as usual. Sashi, we have learned. is a little slutbag. When he stretches out, Maki is as long as my legs; Sashi is a few inches short of that.

Okay, I feel better now.
