[Hikaru no Go] Shindou/Touya spam

Disclaimer: This is my virgin attempt at writing anything Hikago, and so it's probably horrifically OOC. Also, ubershort (I'm only spamming with it here because what bikun wants, she gets. At least in terms of this fandom, since she pimped me into it.)

Contrary to popular belief, Shindou is not oblivious to everything that takes place off of the goban. He can recite the current lineup of Shounen Jump (and quite possibly the plot of every series running in it), knows every upgrade that his friend Waya has made to his computer in the past three months, and always seems to know which ramen shops are open in any given part of Tokyo. No, Shindou Hikaru knows plenty of things outside of the go salon, no matter what the cattier pros say to one another outside of matches.

Touya Akira knows that Shindou sees these things, which is what makes it so frustrating that he doesn’t see the most obvious thing of all. Shindou sees flash over substance; he knows the lineup of Shounen Jump but couldn’t tell you what was on the front page of today’s newspaper, he knows computer upgrades but not the internet games his friend wins using them, he knows which ramen shops are open all over Tokyo but nothing of the finer establishments where many pros eat. And this means that when Shindou Hikaru looks at Touya Akira, he sees the flash- the aggressive genius on the goban- over the substance, just as he would with anything or anyone else.

Touya knows Shindou. That’s why, in spite of all that, it doesn’t really surprise Touya when Shindou takes him by the arm after a game in the go salon- never hesitantly, because Shindou doesn’t hesitate when it comes to Touya’s go and there’s no reason he’d be otherwise with Touya himself- and suggests they do something other than discuss the game.

hikaru no go, shindou/touya
