I agree. Your point of view is the same as mine. Somehow I believe that everybody are otherkin though - it depends on how you define otherkin. Is the term "otherkin" used when you're aware of that you've had a past life as "whatever" or that you're "whatever" in spirit? Well, the furry usually has a passion for some kind of spicific animal... I believe it's because he's been that specific animal in a past life. I had a friend a few years ago.. I guess he'ss till my friend, but we don't talk much :P I'm sure a lot of you already know him, he's a popular guy, an orca. Won't mention his name. We talked about his passion for orcas and we discussed that it's likely that he was an orca in a past life and it's possible the reason behind his passion for orcas ( ... )

I really don't segregate between them too much myself. I have some great friends on each side and there are also those I dislike with a passion on each side.

But I do have to agree with the opinion that some otherkin are elitist and that they treat others like they're not worthy or something. That kind of attitude doesn't make the rest of the otherkin community look good and in the end it's probably because of that stereotype that some are vehemontly against kin.

Who were these Danish furs that flamed you?

You were the first I met, but you didn't flame me. You accepted that I was a fur. I believe it was on Furnet IRC. At first they were pretty nice, but as soon as I mentioned that I was an otherkin they started saying things like "Oh no... not one more of those otherkin. They are crazy.. they believe they are animals in spirit/past life... bullshit, blabla" Etc. It slowly got worse and I didn't feel welcome when they all said things like that. Wolfspawn was friendly too, but I haven't talked to him for quite some time.

Oh well that's their loss, not yours... I don't talk to most of them anyway. I may be a fur, but I just don't share the interests and general mentality of the average fur. I'm more of a borderline fur anyway.

The reason why I wrote this update is because I watched some furcon/fursuit/interviews on youtube because I was bored. Talked to Silowyi, Sarmanikan and Tianis about it and decided to make this post.

for me, the thing is simple. Furries are posers. I don't say I'm hating them or blaming them, each to their own as they say and I have many furry friends but I just don't talk about otherkin thingies with them and that's about it but I think the otherkin/furry "war" started since the whole two things started

I'm going to go ahead and call this one out since your somone who thinks that furries are posers. As I have never understood the point, what exactly are they posing to be?

As for the posibly obligitory question, I'm Reisaf keep the titles and lables to those who need them.

posers as in rping, they are playing to be animals. I have nothing against it at all really, that's just a fact I saw, nothing else

We all know when furies role play they are playing as anthropomorphic animals, they are playing a role. Yet on that note the defining feature of furies would be the interest in things revolving around forms of anthropomorphism. If you say its just a fact you saw and passed judgment on, that is rather a shame as it would lead others to believe that based on an uninformed view point you had chosen to put others below you. That combined with the derogatory description of posers, (which I still do not get the furies know they are role playing and they do it to have fun, are they posing as themselves, or are you trying to say that only people who fall into what you deem the proper criteria are not posing when they role play? )is indeed the reasoning behind the negative profiling many furies have of otherkin. In a less wordy manner furries do not like otherkin because people who have not seen the whole picture keep coming to them and putting on an "I'm better than you" drama fest while waving the title of otherkin around ( ... )
