I've finished my very first mix! I'll share it with all of you! Feel free to download it! And please tell me what you think - the mixing, the track-selection, etc

hmm, was wondering on the legality of mixing other songs, always something ive pondered about, but, anyways, have to say this mix rocks, still listening though it atm, but, is good, dont think ive cringed at any of the songs yet, and ive been listening to trance for forever to the point id gotten bored of most of it, this is refreshing stuff :)
IANAL but in the US, you can take VERY limited portions of a work for educational, critical, informative or nonprofit purposes. If someone sues, then I think legality is up to the judge, based ostensibly on those factors.
What is "limited" is a matter of contention, and musicians/publishers have sued over things as petty as sampling. Google "music sampling lawsuit" (or similar) to see what I mean.
And you absolutely must have permission for substantial portions, as would probably make it into a mix. As the industry has long pushed for a "harmonization" of the (already draconian) IP laws, I doubt Europe is drastically different. Even with Weird Al, where what he's doing is specifically protected under US parody laws... AFAIK he has always gotten permission to do his songs. Because the big music conglomerates will sue anyway.
So I hate to say it, but if you start to gain a public audience, be careful. I wouldn't even dare sell mix-y stuff without a smart lawyer involved. :/
Oh man this sounds AWESOME. Did you know I saw Above & Beyond live and up-close last week? :D Downloading and appreciating, because hardtrance is the way to go!
Ooh.. always been wondering if there were other dragons or furries out there who like hardtrance and actually know how it sounds. Glad to see you like it as well :) We should talk about it sometime.. I can talk for hours.
I envy you. I want to see Above and Beyond too!
I'm tired of people calling anything electronic "techno" x.x
I might just be stupid, but I can not manage to download anything :\
I would not know about the legability, but you could probably get an artist account at MP3.com. Be sure to read the agreement first so that you would not get thrown out again. :)
