Castiel dumped Dean on the cot in the study.

“What the hell happened to him?” Bobby asked, trying to put back all the papers that Castiel disturbed.

“I did,” Castiel growled as he handcuffed his lover to the frame. Bobby raised an eyebrow at them before wheeling himself into the kitchen.

Dean was out cold. A bit of blood trickled from where his bottom lip split open. Castiel stared down at him with hard eyes.

Castiel should feel guilty about beating the crap out of his lover in that alleyway, but he doesn’t.

Dean was about to betray Castiel by giving himself up to Michael.

Castiel sat in the chair beside the bed, watching his lover sleep. Castiel knew what hate was, but he never expected to feel it towards Dean.

Everything that he has done and given up for the man obviously meant nothing to Dean. Castiel sat and seethed.

He saved Dean from Hell, at the cost of several of his shield mates. He’s turned his back on the Host and killed several of his brethren. He’s even lost his faith in God.

Castiel kicked the leg of the cot.

“Wake up, you selfish son of a bitch,” Castiel grumbled. Dean’s eyes fluttered open and stared at the angel. He went to sit up but was trapped by the handcuffs. Dean went to open his mouth but Castiel held his hand up.

“No, you will listen,” he said, his voice hard. “I went through the fires of hell, literally, for you. I have done everything you’ve asked; I’ve sacrificed my entire existence for you. And you were willing to throw it all away in a moment of self pity.”

Castiel kept his hard gaze on his lover. He could see Dean trying not to break under the weight of it.

“I hate you,” Castiel ground out. Dean’s face stayed calm, but Castiel could see the heartbreak in Dean’s eyes.

“Fine,” Dean said as calmly as he could. “So you’re leaving?” Castiel let out a short bitter laugh.

“I have nowhere to go. This is my battle as much as it is yours,” he said, fighting the urge to hit Dean again. Dean shrugged and slumped on the cot.

“Whatever,” Dean said as he draped his free arm over his eyes. Castiel lunged forward and hauled him up by his shirt. Dean gave a brief panicked look.

“You don’t get it!” Castiel shouted. “You’re stupid and selfish and you can’t tell when someone else does something for you out of love!” Castiel wished he could take the last words back as soon as they left his mouth. They stared at each other for a few moments, letting the tension between them thicken.

Castiel crashed their lips together harshly. Castiel took the lead, biting at Dean’s split lip. The tang of blood exploded on Castiel’s tongue. The moment Dean began to kiss back, he pushed Dean back onto the cot. Dean banged his head on the window frame. Dean’s free hand touched his bruised lips.

“I will see you later, Dean,” Castiel said before fluttering out of Bobby’s home.

He felt a small push against his Grace. One of his brothers was calling to him. He let the feeling fill him, and he realized that the Archangel meant him no ill will.

To Hell with Dean, Castiel thought as he flew away to meet Gabriel.

A/N 2 - Yes, it does lead into Something To Fight For, cause I wanted to tie it somehow and not leave it dangling on it's lonesome. :)
