Blackberries grow that high? I'm used to seeing them in waist to head high bushes.

They are on an embankment that you can't see, but the roof of the car is almost even with the ground on the other side. Many of the brambles are actually hanging down below where their roots are behind the wall. There were so many ripe berries up there that we kept losing some as the would shake loose while we were pulling others.
