Ok. so. Click if you have ever attended an anime convention; be it as an artists trying to make a living, or just a fan spending the weekend among fans. There'll be a quiz on this next time you see me at a con.

The Artist Alley Manifesto - the Do's and Don'ts for BOTH sides of the table. )

Completely hear ya, more so surprisingly enough, from the artist's side of things, when I've only ever had a table to sell stuff at twice in my life. Psy's horror stories to me on how much of an asshole someone can be to you when you're trying to make an honest buck at an alley table piss me off enough, but I've experienced almost every single one of those pet peeves during Otakon 2006 alone.

Oh no it's not that. I didn't actually get to go to Oni Con this year. This was just something i've been meaning to type for a while. Hearing recently from a fellow artist friend merely prompted me to finally write it.

Guess the great and powerful Juno should have come to Oni this year - sounds like I needed to make a few more children cry. Le sigh - opportunity missed, lesson learned.

Oh wait - you didn't go? *reading comments* Ah well, I'm sure opportunities missed regardless - it was a con after all. XD

And we definitely missed you and Kate there. It was weird without our usual people. But I totally agree with you Do's 7 Don'ts... Kinda seems like common sense, but heck, we all kow that died and has gone the way of good manners. (well at least for most people, some people still have it).
I hope you have a Happy New Year!!! Cannot wait to see more on the new comic

Helping out a friend many years back at Otakon, I know all about that. That he managed to get a table near a more well-known artist seemed to make it worse.
THe fangirls didn't know/care that my buddy was a friend of the artist and a fellow artist/paid for the table artist, and they totally trashed his area.

The fangirls tried to get me kicked out because my big mouth started going. I bellowed until my voice cracked for them to do many of the things you posted about them NOT doing. I befriended security right off the bat, so they ignored the whiny girls, and helped peel them off the table.

I know, make a flyer of this with a picture, pass it on to other artists, and see how many artists pick up/add to it.

Hope the new year is golden for you.
