Update from yesterday, if you care - otherwise, skip it!

So, as I mentioned in the comments to my journal yesterday, when I was feeling like crap, I was headed into the doctor today. Oddly, it wasn't because of yesterday, but simply a scheduled visit to see how things are going. So, there's certianly good and bad... as follows:

I'm still alive: Pulse, blood-pressure, and lungs proved it. Brain function yet to be determined.
Gall Bladder: Perfectly normal, so it seems... (huh?!)
Dizziness: Can be handled by prescription medication, treating the symptom itself. (Meclizine, 25mg)

So ok, things aren't so bad, really... however...

Sugars: Have been on the rise for the month I was off meds. A very slow, but steady, increase. I'm back on my diabetes meds, but on so low of a dose I have to get the smallest pill offered and cut it in half. Basically, from the doctor herself, if I lose anymore weight, I'll end up ditching the meds again.

Gall Bladder?: So it's not the Gall Bladder - what is it? I have a contrast CT Scan set up to check out my general stomach area as a whole, which will highlight any problems in that area. Which is good, as I've had a bit of localized pain and all. Better to be safe than sorry. Most likely cause of problems? Muscles, from exercise, though it doesn't feel anything like that. Thankfully, she's careful enough to simply want to be sure. It still means a needle in the arm :(

Dizziness: So dragonboy, you may well have been right. She suggests that given the time in between spells of dizziness, onset, and lack of triggers, it's probably something residual from a viral infection a number of weeks back. The effects of inner ear infection, even after cleared up, can stick around up to 8 weeks after the sickness is gone. 8 weeks? Well that certainly falls into the realm of the last time I was seemingly dreadfully sick, as I remember it well enough. Good news in a bad wrapper I suppose? But, since it's certainly not my gall bladder, this was the next best assumption. I've got to monitor the symptoms and report back.

So actually, I'm still doing pretty darn well overall. A minor setback in the blood sugar department, but it's only because we jumped the gun just a bit too fast. Better that we try things and get them out of the way, I suppose - and it's good to know I'm just on that fine edge of "almost there". My new goal is another 15 pounds by the end of next month - very doable, especially with the way I'm dealing with things now. Maybe that'll do it, finally?
