A new low for telemarketers

Feb 03, 2007 17:39

I got a call this morning. I pick it up, and I hear: "Please hold for our associate" followed by music. After I hung up, they tried a second time.

So now, not only are the telemarketers calling you at home, but they're trying to put you on hold also.

And you're not on the Do Not Call registry... why?

I am. But there are loopholes in the registry that allow them to call you if they have a "pre-existing relationship" or are a charity.

Also, a lot of these calls are from collection agencies and the like looking for the people who had my number 5+ years ago. Those guys are especially persistent.

My new idea is that you lose the landline.
