It has been calculated that if everyone in the United States did not purchase a drop of gasoline for one day and all at the same time, the oil companies would choke on their stockpiles. At the same time it would hit the entire industry with a net loss of over 4.6 billion dollars which affects the bottom lines of the oil companies ( Read more... )

Dude, this is a totally ignorant action initiated by asshole wanna-be revolutionary idiots. PLEASE READ MY RESPONSE TO THIS STUPIDTY. If there's something else you'd like to know about the situation, please IM me with whatever questions you have.

You know that this won't happen, but it's sad to think it drags good people like you down with it. =/

Right on. someone needs to play the voice of reason. But there's something satisfying conceptually of just giving a big f-you to oil corporations. It might be a monkey-wrench tactic, but why not throw a wrench in to the machine when the machine is sooo disfunctional.

Of course it sounds like a great idea. Let's all gather together as American citizens for this cause against the Oil Industry who controls the prices of this non-renewable resource. That way we can make oil companies lose money which they’ll have to gain by raising prices higher and higher. Psssh, demand would remain constant because we are so dependant.

This machine isn’t ours alone, it’s the whole world. These idle threats have been circulating since my freshmen year, written by anonymous cause heads without the intellectual capabilities or fiscal means to accomplish this to get the word out to everyone.

I at least hoped you would be able to see this for what it's worth. I’d REALLY like to know where these people are getting there facts from with a net loss of $4.6 billion. Yea, right. I know I’m making a big deal over nothing, but the impulse to say something won’t allow me not to.

*Sorry Chris for using your LJ as a platform to state my opinions/facts.
