Amen on the busy signals. Every single time I hear that lady say, "the line is busy," I slam the phone down on the hook. I've heard you can call the phone company and ask for the busy signal back ... but I've never been motivated enough to try.

I completely forgot about that new annoyance. It's just so rare to hear them at all anymore...

Ha. Some of my family (including me) is a little behind and still has a single line and an answering machine. So I hear it fairly often.

You remember 5-digit phone numbers? You're older than I thought you were.

I miss music videos on MTV and end-of-day station signoff (imagine a day that ended on TV!).

Yeah, I grew up in a small town. I also remember when you didn't have to dial the area code even if it was long distance.

I totally forgot about your two misses and I totally agree. Better than the sign off though was the national anthem in the morning that heralded the begining of cartoons. How in the world did I wake up that early? I'm pretty sure that informercials are to blame on the loss of this one.
