'After that, most of the rest of our work involved solving certain problems with logic. For instance, how do you get a sea monster onto land? There were early versions where the winds actually blew it onto the beach and it crawled up to the building and worked its way inside. But that gave way to it coming into the water pipes and through the light fixtures, which I think is subtler and ultimately more scary

'We also used an old trick, quick and dirty, which is to take some hollow tentacles, wrap them around the actors, pull them away, then run the film in reverse to make it look like they're getting grabbed

I like this episode, not one of the best, but it was enjoyable. I love the little scene at the end with Arthur Dales saying how he wouldn't have left th x-files if he had a partner like Scully.
I have a soft spot for this episode, but I can never remember why. Every time I get to it in a rewatch, I think "Oh, yay! Agua Mala!" And then I watch and I can't remember what I thought was so great about it. Haha.
The bickering in the end about who saved whom is pretty cute, and I like when Scully freaks out after Mulder gets trapped in the hall. But then she's just like "ok, I guess I'll just deliver a baby, then." Oh, Scully, what can't you do?
I actually really like this episode. Not my favorite of the season, but I still think it's good. It kind of seems like an early season case file, with still the feel of the sixth season. I don't even know if that makes sense, but it does in my head, haha. Maybe it just reminds me of The Host.
I wouldn't have said no to there being no x-file and having had to watch Scully and Mulder hole up in some emergency shelter together. Or to them having spent an episode in a goldmine, actually. That sounds rather nifty.
I like Dales. I'm not sure why Scully is so adamant against there being a sea creature because it isn't exactly a paranormal idea. The episode has some decent banter and we get another hilariously lame, inappropriate joke from Mulder for our collection.
