Okee dokee! I've seen XF2 three times this weekend so I simply don't have room in my brain (or my schedule!) for the rewatch atm.

Thus, here is the description of the New Year's kiss from my guidebook's episode synopsis:

Mulder and Scully turn to the TV as Dick Clark counts down the last ten seconds to the new year. The ball drops. The year "2000" lights up. Everybody is kissing. Mulder looks at Scully. She finally looks over at him. He leans down--

It is a sweet kiss. But longer, perhaps, than a kiss between friends should be. Their lips part. They share a tender look.

"The world didn't end," says Mulder.

"No, it didn't," says Scully.

"Happy New Year, Scully."

"Happy New Year, Mulder."

Back Story:
"It took seven seasons, but The X-Files finally got around to doing a zombie episode. Yet there was much more to the episode 'Millennium' than merely raising the dead ( ... )

[Cont'd]:

"It was during the story sessions that Shiban came up with the idea of the millennium kiss between Mulder and Scully. 'It just felt like the logical culmination of their relationship. They had been heading toward the kiss for years, and they almost did it in The X-Files movie. It was actually Frank [Spotnitz] who suggested that it was New Year's Eve and somebody has to kiss somebody ( ... )

ARGH SO JEALOUS *throws tantrum*

I love this.

Working to catch up with the rewatch! Here are my observations:

- The teaser in the funeral home reminds me of Irresistible *shudder*. Nothing good ever happens in funeral homes.
- I went looking for info about heavy magic online and found nothing at all. Is this a real field of magic or just something 1013 made up for kicks?
- Mulder sunglasses = HOT.
- I thought the zombies were mildly ridiculous but in the darkness of the basement with the only light coming from the flares on the floor... they're not quite so ridiculous. Also, this shot makes Mulder (and his adorable hair) look even hotter than usual. Damn.
- And I remember doing some fangirl SQUEEEing during The Kiss when this was first aired.
