- I actually totally 100% forgot what this episode was about. For the first ten minutes, I was getting it mixed up with Brand X for some reason, and I kept wondering when Mulder was going to get those bugs in his throat or whatever. :P
- The women in this episode are so Desperate Housewives!
- The stakeout was so cute! I thought it was neat that they showed a case that ended up *not* being an X-File. So you see, Mulder's *not* right all the time. ;)
- I love how Scully kept calling Mulder to complain. She's so cute when she's pouty! And that quote about her "dessicated corpse" was priceless ( ... )

That is soooo a man's jacket. I also believe that his jacket was on the back of the chair at the desk in that place.

...how do I remember stuff like that but not what the episode is about?

Mulder is so super hot in this episode... that's all I really remember, because I'm shallow.

Haha, I know! I actually kind of like this one, though. (The chosen shot for the episode post? Um... HOT.)

I thought I'd add my comments, even though I posted - not technically my comments are they ;o)

I love the idea of M&S on stakeouts. Why did they not do more of these? Really? Sexytimez! And Scully's phone calls to Mulder are classic, much like Mulder's to her in Chinga and Tithonus.

And like has been mentioned Ellen: Do you have a significant other? ... Mulder: Um... not in the widely understood definition of the term ... Could he be any more obvious?!?! He's loving it up with Scully :oD

I am definitely 100% convinced that they have already had sexytimez before all things. I remember being SHOCKED out of my mind when I saw the teaser for the next ep, but now with the rewatch it's so damn obvious! I'm still trying to figure out exaclty when... hee.

Yeah I dunno, I'm kind of torn, I like that all things seemed to be their first time, but there is just so much cuteness and flirting in S7 that is just doesnt seem possible that they waited SO LONG. But they are experts, since they waited S7 years to have a real kiss. lol.

Actually, I think it was the kiss in Millenium that sort of unhinged all the UST haha. Like, I don't know if they went home and did the wild thing, but I think after they kissed, both of them were like "hey, the world really didn't end!" and, you know, how hot the other is ;)

I love stakeouts too! They really should have shown them more. I often wonder what they talk about during them.

And I love this:

Not in the widely understood definition of that term....

I love the look on his face when she says 'the right woman will come along...'

This is a very creepy episode. I love it when CC takes the suburban dream and turns it into a living nightmare. I would have preferred more Scully but I think DD does a fine job carrying his scenes. He's freaking ADORABLE in this ep.

Thoughts:
- M&S stakeout! Mulder chewing bubblegum! Then he ditches Scully. And she cracks the case anyway. That girl rocks.
- In Skinner's office, Mulder's like, "Why, what did I do?" followed by, "No, really, what did I do?" That scene is pure GOLD. The look on his face when Skinner asks him about the "mythological or paranormal" aspects of ravens is priceless.
- Mulder's reference to Audubon and psychomantiums (mirrored rooms built by the Victorians). What a geek.
- Mulder: "Gotta hand it to you, sheriff. You put the service back in to protect and serve."
- GORGEOUS lighting throughout this ep.
- Ellen's black eyes reminded me of Rob Roberts' shark-like eyes in "Hungry".

Fun Facts:
- Fans of obscure genre films had a field day with this cast. Michelle Joyner's first film was the horror anthology ... )

[Cont'd]:

"Greg Walker, who worked on the story with credited writer David Amann, recalls that part of their problem was solved 'when David stepped up and said he had a way to do it.' Amann explains that Duchovny's idea was to have Mulder carry the bulk of the story and to budget in just one day's availability by Anderson into a secondary tale 'that starts out with Mulder and Scully on a stakeout looking for a serial killer before Mulder goes off to investigate a case in the 'burbs.' A couple of inconspicuous telephone conversations between Mulder in suburbia and Scully on the stakeout filled out Anderson's seeming constant presence in the episode.

'Chimera' was written in a burst of twelve-hour days that saw the initial basic storyline develop a surprising number of facets. Walker describes the finished script as 'a suburban parable about perfection. It ends up being about a woman who wants to control the world around her.' Amann saw it as 'an interesting Jekyll-and-Hyde story ( ... )
