I think I've seen this episode two times only. It's not the worst, but not exactly among my favourites either. The thing that bothers me the most: how is Scully's chip staying in her neck when Doggett cuts the slug thing out? It looks like it comes out at exactly the same spot where her chip should be. Maybe I'm thinking way too much about this, but it really bothers me.
Anyway. Scully looks really pretty in this ep, so that's at least something.
DOGGETT: "Hmm Scully, there's a microchip on this damn slug!" SCULLY: "Put it in! Put it in!" DOGGETT: "All right, if you insist." SCULLY: "The chip!! I'm talkin about the chip!!"
Nothing about this episode makes any sense, but I *am* kind of a sucker for the whole stranded-in-a-creepy-ghost-town scenario (or really, when it comes to this show, anybody stranded ANYWHERE is usually a good time), so I did like that aspect of it, at least. The townspeople are SO. CREEPY. Especially closer to the beginning, before Scully really catches on, when she's just trying to find a phone that works
( ... )
Yeah, that part at the end where Scully apologizes to Doggett has always rubbed me the wrong way. She doesn't need his coddling. She knows way more than he does on anything XF-related *rolls eyes*
I can't even begin to contemplate the whole chip/tattoo madness because this episode is so damn ridiculous and stupid. It's horribly disgusting and not worth it in the '2Shy'/'F. Emasculata' way, not the disgusting and completely worth it 'Home'/'Irresistible' way.
I think it's hilarious that she ditched Doggett, though. She really is trying to channel Mulder. And this image is definitely one of my favorites from the last two seasons. I'm not quite sure why.
