I also hate Scully giving away the keychain, but I hate her little speech to Doggett about what it means more :P
Though, I do kinda like this shot because it shows how tiny Scully is.
Then Doggett's all "You're coming back right?" Uhhh, why would Scully want to work without Mulder? Nope, I don't think so.
How can the writers get continuity right on some eps and on others not at all?? They have all these little details down that they have Leyla talk about. But the mytharc or when Scully got her cross necklace is apparently beyond them.
Does it bother anyone else that Doggett always says "Liberry" istead of "Library"??
Somehow I doubt that Skinner was furious with Mulder about impersonating Kersh, lol. It was just an act Skinner did for Scully to show off how tough he can be ;)
I do like the ending though. Ahhhh, Mulder and Scully acting like a married couple.
Scully is so pretteh! I love that shot! The best thing about s8 and s9: Scully being really, really pretty. And look, it's the Scully!eyebrow in perfection!
I liked the little inside jokes at the beginning when Scully looks at the dime & penny, Queequeg's collar, and the keychain. Actually this whole episode is sort of full of inside jokes, with Mary Sue Leyla Harrison constantly bringing up M&S's past cases
( ... )
and she was just trying to show her appreciation for all the work he's done on the X-Files over the last year I agree, I understand that she wants to thank him for all he's done and for being a good partner. I just don't like that she gives away such a personal item. Oh well. Guess she's just happy that Mulder is back (for now).
I think it's probably like someone said above - Scully giving the keychain to Doggett was a plot device so it could eventually be given to Leyla Harrison.
But M&S's banter feels kind of awkward to me for some reason, like they were trying to do improv or something and it just came out kind of fake. I don't know, it's hard to explain. They almost seem a little out of character, Scully especially.
It was improv. That was the point. They tried filming it two different ways: once with Leyla cracking up and laughing along with their argument, and once with her totally serious. Turned out to be a better scene if she kept a straight face.
I got a kick out of rewatching this one, probably because I had watched it with the commentary track before and I remembered all the little details (rotating set design, lizard actor on a skateboard, GA & DD's improv at the end, etc.). Only thing that bugs me is that there is never any explanation offered as to why the lizard man could morph (Mulder DID see him transform right in front of his eyes). But I guess there wasn't time to cram it in and the story was really about Agent Harrison, not the X-File itself.

Hey! I didn't even notice that first time around. Was too busy looking at the prettyness, haha. That makes it even better!
