That's neat about King George's diary entry. I'd never heard that before.

Though, this time around I have a huge appreciation for Lucy and her acting (thank you BSG) and I think she's kind of awesome.

Yay for D'Anna!

(This comment has SO MUCH TO DO WITH X-FILES.)

Ha! I just watched this episode last night, and the bit about King George is actually IN THE EPISODE. So I think it's pretty funny that I wrote "I'd never heard that before," because obviously I have. Shows how much I remember about Season 9. :P

Ah, now we trudge on our virtual feet into season nine.

This episode..hmm. What's to say? I find myself "characteristically less exuberant" about this episode. ON THE WHOLE. Is it me or is super soldier lady speaking with an odd voice? I never watched Xena really but I don't recall that accent? I dunno.

Reyes sleeps nakie? Who didn't see that coming. Speaking of, this whole episode is filled with a lot of skin. (Bare chested Doggett, naked super soldier, naked fake! Mulder rear, Reyes) And boo to Reyes for yanking Mulder's pencils out of the ceiling I will call her Monica, Destroyer of Good Things.

Scully begins her chain of irresponsibility this episode too. Miracle baby is left with the madre, even though all of their lives are in danger!? GG Scully. She needs another version of herself to talk the sense back in to her. (for staying with the show)

Hmm. Ok, I am done.

They want to make him seem like a deadbeat father I guess, which is not cool with me. As we'll find out, it may not have been Mulder's decision to leave. BUT STILL. God it sucks.
DO NOT EVEN GET ME STARTED. DO NOT.

And yes, I'm not even sure if they used Steve Kiziak in that shower. He really doesn't look much like David/Mulder, does he? WEIRD.

Also, do not even get me started on the incredibly ill-advised choice that was tying William so closely in to the mytharc. GAHHHH.

In conclusion: most appropriately titled episode ever? Not to mention what a stellar way to start the new season -- a two-parter that can put you to sleep1 [/sarcasm]

Ugh, new opening. Hate it. There was no reason to change it this late in the show, and to me it just represents how the show's changed and what it's become (i.e. what Fox thought everyone wanted).

I think this is the most boring season premiere ever. Just.... wtf. Scully seems less than overjoyed about William, I feel like there's nothing going on throughout the entire episode. To me, X Files season premieres are all about being on the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happen next, some kind of chase scene involving Mulder doing something reckless, and mytharc. This felt like a weak stab at a classic X Files season premiere.

Ugh, ugh, season 9.

I don't hate Doggett, however. I actually feel bad for him when Scully tells him to leave her apartment. I vaguely remember by the end of season 9 liking Doggett and Reyes, that they were just barely becoming likable enough as characters, and then.... show is over. :( Why must you hurt me so badly, season 9.

Word. I didn't realize how much I hated the new theme until I rewatched it for this. I actually cringed.
