I actually liked this episode overall. I like that they throw us right into it, and we don't know any more than Doggett does for a while. It's a neat plot idea - they take away your memory and make you work for them as cheap labor. (Stargate SG-1 did this too.) The shootout at the end was pretty cool, except Doggett and Reyes' escape in the bus was kind of short-lived, lol. Oh well, Skinner to the rescue. And I liked the lighting in this episode, how everything was super bright and oversaturated.
Also, the guy who bored into people's minds and wiped their memories was kind of like a Mexican Cigarette Smoking Man. :P
Okay, I really, really like this episode a lot. Maybe also becaue I like Doggett, and think Patrick did a fantastic job here. But I just love the style of the episode, the way the Mexico scenes are shot is pretty cool. One of the best of s9, I think.
Oh, and that Scully screencap you chose is awesome. The Scully!Eyebrow in perfection!
I dont mind this episode either. I really like the Mexico colouring for some reason. *shrugs* I think it works well (for me) as a Doggett episode, because I like him on his own (and RP is a good actor) but like you said Amy, when Reyes gets in on it, its just so ... UGH. I think I would've believed it more if Scully had said she lived in Mexico for a month as a child or something. LOL.
