At first, I thought this was going the way of Silence of the Lambs and we'd find somebody making an awesome body suit, but no, there wasn't an awesome body suit. Oh well.

A skin suit would've been really, really awesome.

I'm watching IWTB right now. Let's talk about that instead.

I didn't remember a single thing about this episode except for the hanging pig carcasses, so I wasn't too excited to watch it. Now I see why. Boring! Although it was kind of neat when Scully went all Cold Case and visited the old man and dug up the info about the old cases. And the idea of skinning someone alive - ew. This episode was pretty graphic and gruesome, actually. I didn't totally follow the reincarnation storyline, but that could be because I drifted off to sleep a few times. :P

Apparently Reyes had the soul of the person who always tried to stop these skinnings. Or something ... O_o

"Hellbound" or as it's otherwise known, "The Squeeze Where I Died" since it's a decent but bland mishmash of those two superior episodes. "Field Where I Died" isn't superior by much, mind you. I actually much prefer Season 9 to Season 8, if Scully had taken off with Mulder and they'd fully gone with Doggett & Reyes as the Next Generation it could have had legs.

While I love that idea - Scully being off with Mulder - I really dont think XF:Next Generation could've worked, not with these two actors. Robert Patrick perhaps, but I dont know if Reyes could've worked as a strong female lead like Scully did. Maybe thats just me because I dont like her.

The other thing is, there are people like me who stayed faithful to the show *because* Scully was still there, I dont think I would've had she not.

I so would have preferred Scully being off the show like that. Sure I personally wouldn't have really wanted to watch the new show without her, but at least then it would better than clinging on to half of the show with Scully being a random/peripheral character in the show that made her.

It's really frustrating when you think of it - why couldn't they have kept Scully the focus? Why give these new mediocre characters the lead in pretty much every episode?

I think it's kind of insulting to that character (Scully) - she's so much stronger than the other two.

I think I fell asleep when I rewatched this ep because I have absolutely nothing written down. And having watched it, can't remember anything about it either. Seriously... those caps you posted of Scully's infinite hotness are like new pictures to me. How did I miss Scully being hot??!?
