Oh and for the last two months just before watching an episode I would come here and read what you guys had to say about it (that and Red Wolf's episode summaries and the summaries on IMDB) so as not to get lost in all those government conspiracy theories, the Syndicate storyline, Mulder's sister's abduction stories, Scully's abduction storyline, the storyline about the Supersoldiers, Scully's uber-baby storyline, etc. Just thought you'd all like to know. ;)

All I remember from my very first viewing of TT was thinking "A date. A fucking date. This is what the last 9 years have worked up to? Didn't CSM say "The date is set" like...9 years ago?" Whatevs.

I watched this last night, and all I could think was that while the mythology in small pieces is awesome and shadowy and mysterious...it sounds absolutely petty when it's all put into monologue.

Soooo...what's up with Kersh? Did he have a sudden change of heart or was this all planned as soon as he found out Mulder was caught? Cool, but I don't get it.

++++ Reyes' speech at the end=awesome. Honorable mention for Mulder's "You've succeeded in curing your headache, but only by cutting off your own heads."
++++ Skinner looking uncomfortable while Mulder and Scully kiss in the jail cell.
++++Doggett is pretty in this one too.
++++ Mulder and Scully together....sigh. Rewound the kissing scene way to many times. They're both so pretty. And together. Kissing. The last scene mirroring The Pilot. The last frame has Mulder mounting Scully's leg.

I won't even go into the trial and how ludicrous it is. Okay, maybe I will a little. Where were those "30 witnesses willing to testify" against Mulder? *shrug* Not to mention that no one gave one iota of evidence during the entire thing. They rehashed everything we already know without actually proving anything. And since when does a good series finale have a CLIP SHOW? As much as it pains me to say this, it's not like anyone who wasn't a hardcore Phile at the time was watching this, SRSLY. Skinner is not a lawyer, Kersh is not a judge, and you can't kill a man who won't die. Hee!

I wrote down some notes for this but it's all pretty much been said. I remember initially feeling really let down by the series finale. It definitely had its moments, but on the whole it was a waste of two hours. I mean, come on. A clips ep? Really?? Hello, I've been watching religiously for how many years?? And for the people who weren't, TOO BAD. lol.

Also, here's what I wrote back when it aired:

BUT, SOOOOO much was left unanswered!! I mean COME ON! What the hell happened to Skinner? Follmer wasn't mentioned at all since Release. Kersh?? Why did he change all of a sudden and what became of him? DOGGETT and REYES??? Last we see of them, they're driving off. Um, K. The XF are closed. For good?? What will become of Dogget and Reyes now? I think we deserved to know SOMETHING about those characters! Too many unanswered questions regarding characters that we've been following for too long... that was the major thing that bugged me
