So what did we think of this one?

Pretty wild for the placebo effect... or was something else going on? And did they have to use Muslim terrorist refugees, reinforcing the stereotype? And what do we think about Miller and Einstein, the junior Mulder and Scully?

Trying to stay out of the Muslim terrorist debate, but in general -- I really did not like this one at all. The new agents were super annoying, the plot made absolutely zero sense, Mulder's drug-tripping (er, thought-tripping?) scene was embarrassing to watch, and the one cute M/S scene we did get was marred by nonsensical dialogue and an attempt to turn it into a shipper music video. Yikes, what a mess.

I'm surprised and saddened that this episode had barely any Mulder/Scully interaction. One of the major reasons I watch this show is the chemistry between DD and GA. It could have been written due to schedules of DD and GA but still...

Curious about if the Mulder Scully relationship is *on* again - they were holding hands at the end - how much do they do that? I was so preoccupied by that.

I was entertained during Mulder's scene with Skinner.

The new agents did not work for me. I think they are trying to recreate a new version of M&S but I found Einstein particularly annoying and Miller was just bland. (Then again, I felt this way and did eventually warm up to Doggett and Reyes.) I was hoping they would be a one-off for this one episode but I think I spy Einstein in next week's preview. I fear that M&S will go on the run again and Miller and Einstein will take over the X Files.

I can't believe that next week's episode is already the last. D:

"The Muslim plotline was the sort of thing I expect this show to subvert and mock, not use."

Very good point. And it's sad to see people arguing about it. But worse of all, what was the X-file? Mulder's hallucination? A guy in a coma? How is that an X-file?

Carter is the worst writer for his own show.

The strangest thing about the Muslim plotline was that from the very beginning it seemed like they were using it as a chance to subvert the Muslim terrorist trope. Especially with the focus on mercy/peace throughout the Arabic dialogue. What they actually ended up doing (which I'm actually slightly confused by still) was just sloppy.

But then again, it's Chris Carter. So.
