I don't know if this has ever happened to you, but this word document I've been working on a lot yesterday and today just decided to scramble into all these weird symbols. And yes, I did have a backup copy, but that was mysteriously transformed as well...There are bits and pieces of regular text thrown in, but it's mainly a series of boxes and

Did you try another computer? Maybe try running a virus scan? Sounds suspicious...

I actually tried it on another computer in the lab after you suggested it and the file was still messed up. I ended up finding an older version of the file saved elsewhere and it seemed to be okay though, so I just lost the last couple of days work, and not all of it, so I wasn't too worried about it in the end :) Thanks for the advice though!
