She wasn't initially able to believe what her eyes were seeing. When she finally managed that much, it was still a chore to find appropriate words to put to the anger that was rushing through her at seeing him. Her fists clenched but she forced herself to loosen them and just moved to go back to the dishes as nonchalantly as she could manage.
"You're home early," under normal circumstances, the words would have held a certain cheerfulness to them. However, after their earlier argument, she couldn't put anything but scathing accusation in them. Clearly, he wasn't as busy as he liked to think.

Had he chosen to simply forget it had happened? She wouldn't be surprised. Cloud's coping skills were minimal. And, as she'd just recently discovered for herself, people didn't change unless they wanted to. And he could care less the state of Seventh Heaven and all of its residents.
Glass after glass and plate after plate were hitting the counter, seeming to voice her agitation for her as it mounted with the growing silence between them.
