Oh ja, these are great. Taking #10 from Bebop and a few from the Studio Ghibli set (I'm in a very SG mood right now), and I also like the 1st Bebop banner. Thanks!

And no, I don't mind, although you could probably achieve a similar coloring by doing something way simpler, but here goes. XD;

Alright, well my base was pretty dark, so I threw in a curves layer to brighten it up while keeping the contrast. Then I threw in a peachish-yellowish layer (#FFCC66) at softlight 100. There's two selective color layers afterwards, adjusting the coloring; the first one is basically just adding more depth to the coloring (more magenta to the reds, more yellow to the yellows, more black to green, etc), and the second one made the icon darker as a whole (increase the cyan, magenta, & black on the neutrals).

Next layer, I threw in a black & white gradient map at softlight 50 to add some contrast. After that, it's mostly just low desaturation and grainy-scratchy layers to get that grayish sort of look. Throw in a low opacity dark red lighten layer to get a reddish color in the blacks, and that's the gist of it! (:
