In april I'll have been edge for 5 years (still a while away). Although this is not much of an accomplishment to many of my friends who passed this mark many years ago, its huge to me. Last night I ran into 2 people from highschool who asked me if i still didnt' drink. It felt good to say yeah i'm still doing that thing you all thought was a phase

never be ashamed of that! you should be proud of it and i'm glad you are. i'm pretty in to it myself and don't go crazy with letting people know i'm straight edge but i'm definitely not quiet about it and i wear the occasional shirt and yes i makes dumb screen names and such with x's. pretty much anyboyd who knows me, knows that i'm straightedge and i'd hang myself before i sold out. most kids who are loud and obnoxious are the ones who are going to sell out anyways. at least that's been what's happened with kids around detroit. haha i could list tons of names but i wont.... and as fas as i'm concerned 5 years is something to be pround of because that's a lot more to say than most of the straightedge claiming retard population that sells out in under a year.

i know yoour not there yet but congratulations. 5 years is an accomplshment, cuse you can't get to 6 with out 5. as for me in august it will be 10 years, and i'm still shocked. because everyday is still a huge battle for me, dealing with addiction and wanting to cope with lifes problems the only way i know how. i feel very fortuneate to stay straight each and every day. and yes my views and values have changed 100% since day one but the feeling of staying strong and disciplined has a far better sense of accomplishment that will never go away.
