Review Smallville Episode 8X02-Plastique

After the one, two punch of Supernatural Plastique episode 8x02 of Smallville left me rather underwelmed. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. It was all rather dull. There wasn't much forward motion, or much of anything really. So this week instead of breaking down my analyses by character, I'm going to go with the good, the bad, and the ( Read more... )

I am very much in agreement with about everything you said. The Clois was definitely the best part of the show. Though I love how Superman-y Clark came off when he was dealing with Bette, I didn't enjoy the character or the actress who played her.

However, the Clark/Lois more than made up for it.

She also introduces a sense of fun and playfulness in his life. Keeping him from taking himself to seriously. Even without Lois knowing about Clarks abilities she knows that he can be so much more then what she sees. One of the main reasons I love Clois is that their relationship is so angst free. She brings out a different side of him, a snarky side but underneath their arguing, they do genuinely care and respect each other ( ... )

The were the only good thing in a completely forgettable episode.

I love Chloe/Davis. They're just perfect together and I want him to not be evil and hook up with her, like that Apocalypse AU guy. Him going evil will break my heart, I know it. Chloe/Davis has way more chemistry than Chloe/Jimmy ever did. To answer your question, Jimmy does know about Chloe's powers ... she told him in s7 when they were stuck in that elevator together and thought they were going to die.

Davis makes Chloe watchable for me, so I really hope he's not evil.

The clothes were great and nothing wrong with being shallow. I'm totally like that too. ;) The cast looked wonderful. :D

Hee! Glad I'm not the only shallow one.

I totally missed Ollie too.

Agreed!

LOL, but my most favorite is at the end when they are talking at his desk... and she gets all soft and 'sitting here now with you, I think I'm more proud that we uncovered the truth than I am over having a headline", and she thanks him for his help in breaking the story.. I just love that... aww they're growing up LOL Lois gets a lot of flack for taking and taking and never thanking anyone (hell she gets flack for everything), so I just thought that scene was really sweet.

Weren't they precious in that scene? I'm so excited about the Clois so far that there are no words.

I can't wait for Toxic, I love Clark, Lois, and Oliver, even better when they interact all together :D

Agrees with what you said:)

Agreed! The clothing was off the charts fantastic in this episode. I hope that Clark can continue to dress himself like an adult with a real job without Lois intervening, not that it wasn't a great scene but let's let the boy become a man all the way!

Bette: I know Charlie McGee. I've met Charlie McGee. You are no Charlie McGee.

For me it was a combination of a bad actress and a "been there, done that" kind of plot.

I think that was my main problem with Bette. The actress who played her was just plain bad. Although I did enjoy her scene with Tess, who just seems to ooze the femmeslash.
