Update for this weekend:

I don't give a crap what the weather is doing. I'm diving, dammit. If it's too rough to go on a chater, I'll march my gear up to commercial blvd and walk off the pier.

:Synopsis: A FAST-MOVING TROPICAL WAVE WILL MOVE ACROSS THE FLORIDA STRAITS LATE FRIDAY THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY. WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 15 TO 20 KNOTS OVER THE COASTAL WATERS AS THE WAVE PASSES.

According to the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, I am now certified in Emergency First Response, Oxygen administration, automatic external defibrillators and their use, and am qualified to conduct Rescue Dive operations.

Week 1 complete!

Coming up on day 3 of Phase I training at pro-dive. I've been certified to perform emergency first response (CPR) and got checked out on the automated defibrillator (CLEAR!). We've begun learning rescue and extraction techniques for unconscious divers. More practice at the beach tommorow morning before we get on the dive boat and practice offshore ( Read more... )

This past Sunday we attempted to dive Tenneco for the second time, this time diving from dad's boat. Dad, his friend, Darren, Cody, and I filled the roster. Conditions were beautiful.
