Chicago is probably my favorite city I've ever visited. I was thinking of planning a trip there this summer myself.

Rome is my favorite city, but I've never been to Chicago. I had been hoping to take a road trip to California after I graduate but that fell through, so this is the back up plan. What do you love so much about it? And did you take a look at that ee cummings poem? I'm interested to know what you think. This long comment is now at an end.

Well, I've never been to Rome, unfortunately. As for what I like about Chicago, I think it has a lot to do with the architecture and the design of the city. There's several famous buildings designed by Mies van der Roh in Chicago, and the variety and scope of the different styles of architecture makes for an intriguing stroll/drive through the downtown area. Also, the lakefront parks on the shores of Lake Michigan with the Chicago skyline directly behind them are exquisite. I also like much of the music that has come from or been influenced by the Chicago music scene (Stereolab, Wilco, etc.)

I'm just about to commence looking up a whole passle of ee cummings poems, so your recommendation is at the top of my list. I'll get back to you on it.

I'd like to point out that, well, postcolonialism is studied with postmodernism. :) Not that I'm trying to force anything on you.

EVAN! STOP IT WITH YOUR POSTMODERNISM! I am aware of it and its implications.
