Overall, the game went well and productive, but we were split up for the majority of the session at least at some point it seemed at least one party member was split off from the others.
Never gamed with these particular gamers before, and from what I've seen most are good RP's. Was slightly surprised when two of the players kept asking the GM what they should do or how their characters should feel or suspect things etc. Rather then Roleplaying asking questions to NPC's, they wanted the GM to form how their character would speak to the NPC since 'my character has a better diplomacy score then I do excuse'. It can sometimes be fun in my experience to be the in-experienced adventurer and make some mistakes, but it can be slightly irksome seeing a fellow player making some very bad inexperienced mistakes, placing thier character, who is on their own, in dire danger.
My character and our cleric were trapped in a cavern for a good part of the session till other pc's finally learned where we were and helped to rescue us. The Thief/Wizard was out for a while summoning his familar. The Paladin kept going back to the Abbey in the town. Our Gnome Tinkerer tried to investigate clues on his own with limited success. The Bard/Druid was failing rather badly at first gathering information, pissing off the towns people in the process. Once finally free my Sorcerer did what he could to assist in the situations of the town and our ally. I managed to discover our ally in the town was connected to the quest we were sent on at the begining from the first session. We all managed basically to survive various troubles except the Half-Elf Bard/Druid who went off on her own to a dangerous rich party for 'Humans' only. While she told some of the party where she'd gone, she really was in dangerous territory tresspassing at a place that she couldn't handle with just her animal companion alone to assist. We all cringed a few times at the things she said and did as she bluffed her way in and failed to escape after the guards were called after her.
Even the GM agreed we need to stay closer together as a party next session. We reached 3rd level though. Took my Sorcerer to a level of Fighter, meanwhile the Cleric decided to take a level of Sorcerer for some reason (though has no intention of going Mystic Theurge). Most everyone else stayed on course of class progression they started last level. Party now includes Human Paladin lvl 3, Gnome Tinker lvl 3, Elf Cleric/Sorcerer lvl 2/1, Human Thief/Wizard lvl 1/2, Half Elf Bard/Druid lvl 1/2, and my Human Sorcerer/Fighter lvl 2/1.
