Short of carrying around truth serum and forcing this Alex person to take it? Probably nothing. You could maybe find some way to document stuff. Then show them that they're lying about something, if you can prove what really went down. But not in front of other people though, that'll make it even more confrontational-y.

talk to Alex either directly...or maybe talk to Alex' family...otherwise it wont really go anywhere...maybe this person does it for another reason besides what you are thinking...
