New Fic: Flashback (B/J, R)

Jul 13, 2005 17:40

Well, here we are again :) This one's a little different - it's got a mix of POVs and tenses and this episode and past episodes and it's kind of an experiment, but I hope you all enjoy it.

Huge hugs to ragingpixie for the read-through and hand-holding ;)

Thanks AnnieGirl! I loved going back to S1 and writing about all those old scenes. It was refreshing to see things as new and exciting and full of opportunity.

Damn, I never did write gapfillers for that season, and I wish I'd had a chance to. There were some amazing scenes and such awesome character development :)

Hmmm... that is a thought ;) I may just have to tackle those one too! And the beginning of S2 (I started writing gapfillers with 205). There were so many great story opportunities in S1... it might be a fun thing to try once this season is over :)

That's my heart in pieces on the floor. Thanks ever so much.
Loved the shifting POVs/times- worked perfectly, and there was never any trouble understanding who's talking when.
I just adore your gap-fillers. Please tell me you're going to keep on writing even after the show ends!

Thanks for the technical feedback - I was a little unsure how to structure this fic, and whether or not it would be clear as to what was happening when, and who was talking! But hearing that it worked for you is awesome :) It was a fun challenge for sure.

Please tell me you're going to keep on writing even after the show ends!

I'll be writing for a little while at least - I'm just not sure if there's going to be anyone left to read it! lol!

Thanks again for the comments :)

*heart shatters* you are so adept at getting into the characters minds...the poignancy...I have been left speechless.

It is amazing how you can see inside the psyche of a fictional character (created by someone else) and make him so "real" and "human". This is perfect and poignant!

make him so "real" and "human".

That's just so awesome to hear... sometimes I feel like they make Brian so one-dimensional on the show, but we all know there's so much more going on beneath the surface. I love getting in there and trying to fill in the blanks that Cowlip gives us. I'm just so glad you enjoy what I've been able to come up with!

Thanks so much :X

In the beginning none of us thought the ending would be this hard.

That these chararcters would sneak in under the wire and so consume us.

When the show left me wanting. You filled in the gaps. When the show brought me down. You lifted me up.

What happens when the last eppy airs? When you've written the last line, from the last recap. *cries*

Thank, Ethan for the years of enjoyment you've given all of us. I hope you got as much out of it as we have.

Yes, I'm in a schmoopy mood.

Oh Sandid, you said what I wanted to and much better.

This was a tremendous story, Ethan. Thank you.

I don't know about saying it much better. I do know that I fear the end of my favorite fic writers.

I won't be able to open the door to my bookstore and grab the latest copy. I've had the Web pages and LJ's for that. Some of the best sellers have paled in comparison.

Yes, I know things change and you move on. I've read some authors my entire adult life. I don't want to not see any more work from a few. Ethan, being one.

Gawd, sorry to take up your lj space, Ethan.

Yeah, it's so odd to think of that... I know what you mean - I have my favourite authors as well, and I wonder what will happen to them? Already the fan fic has totally started petering out and I'm sure missing it.

Gawd, sorry to take up your lj space, Ethan

Never be sorry for that, that's why I got the thing! lol! I love discussion - even if this particular thread is staring to make me feel all sad that the series is almost over :(

*sigh*
