Quick update to say:

Cyclone Yasi is a category 4 as of 7pm AEST Feb 01 - 2011

It's headed for Cairns, which is about 3-4 hours drive north of here, but due to the size of the storm and the fact that it's hitting north of where I live, we're up for destructive winds, a heap of rain and flash flooding. At 8pm tomorrow night it'

not gonna lie some of the newscasters here have wondered if there will be anything left of cairns if that little sunstorm passes overhead but on the bright side who will tell the difference

lol poor cairns. I'm kinda reaaally feeling bad for Innisfail. They got smashed back in 06 by Cyclone Larry (also Cat.4 but smaller than this one) and now they're up for round 2.

There's a safari park up there with lions and a rhino and cool shit like that. WHERE THE HELL DO YOU HIDE A RHINO.

AS A MATTER OF FACT they usually have these large cement sheds for the beasts, and if you worry about them drowning, don't bother. While they aren't good at swimming, rhinocerii have feet that allow them to easily travel on mud. So unless they get hit with a tsunami, they'll be fine. The zoo will find them a hill to stand on. The elephants will swim because they are naturally fabulous swimmers. Their trunks are used as snorkels.
