i have my smiley pierced i did it myself too. it got a little swolen right after 4 weeks when i stopped cleaning as often. it also started to hurt when i was eating but now its fine even when i pull on it. one piece of advice watch out when your brushing your teeth for the next little while.

i just used listerine. i also got my tongue pierced around the same time and they said listerine in the morning, at night and after every meal but no more than 5 times a day but thats a bit much for just a smiley
