I have barely a trace of Internet paranoia but am not on Facebook (YET!) because although I'd love to keep up with family/old friends/new friends, I'm worried about the time drain, seeing as how I already fail at keep up with regular e-mails and LJ.

But now I'm thinking that this latest brouhaha may cause many folks to leave Facebook and even cause its demise, which would suck, because I'd hate to lose my chance to get in on the fun. I know that plenty of folks I've lost touch with over the years are on there. :(

oh, i don't think this (diaspora*) will kill facebook. facebook is too big, too powerful, too entrenched for that. but it might present a viable option. and for me, that's all i need. someplace i can be online but control my own info. i barely go on facebook, because it's just too much for me.

I really hate facebook, and avoid it whenever possible, so I'm all about a new social networking site. In the meantime, I tweet to feed my need for constant status updates.

Gorgeous picture!

i avoid facebook as well. it's a timesuck, it's exploitative, and frankly, a lot of the people i'm "friends" with on there? i don't give two shits about. i don't think i've updated my status in months.

thanks! i took it in a cemetery outside bologna.
