Okay, guys! So I know we've tossed this idea around a lot for a while in chat and so on, but I thought that given LJ's recent TOTAL NOTIF FAIL and the fact that the game is kind of going through some changes management-wise and seems to be slightly less HUGE AND UNWIELDY in the numbers of players department... um

Cynical as this is, my opinion is 'it would never work'.

people are lazy

people's attention spans for dreamwidth are not big enough (people have moved before and moved back, I've seen it happen too many times) and I pretty much think you'd kill the game.

I agree with Jack. We just lost two mods and we've got a lot of modwork to do, and this would be a WHOLE LOT MORE WORK and I really fail to see the pressing need. If the game weren't almost a year old this might be a more reasonable idea, but there's a lot of stuff to move and then we have our MASSIVE ARCHIVES of logs and shit. I think we'd lose a lot of people in the process, and we aren't having any actual PROBLEMS with LJ so why bother?

Oh dear.

I would probably say C, even if it meant saying goodbye to the Les Miz cast. Alice has a paid account and Feuilly has a crapload of userpics that don't expire until the middle of next year. I guess that LJ's tech issues are never a big issue for me - whenever it goes down or notifs don't go through, I just keep up with tabs or go draw/read in the extra spare time.

I love you, XI, but I don't know if I'd have the patience or the time to figure out another site. But that's just me.

That, and profiles on DW are broken, so your pretty table thing wouldn't work anymore D:

BUT ASIDE FROM THAT I would definitely move over with you guys. LJ's recent fail has left me rather disillusioned, and if current patterns persist, they will keep doing it. I love Dreamwidth a whole lot. XI would have a leg up on the issue that newbie games over there have; namely that they can't get players. XI has players. If people followed the game over there, I think it would be good for XI, and good for the Dreamwidth RP community.

Okay, and specific things I like about Dreamwidth, in list form:

• Paid accounts are $6 for two months, but get 100 userpics, so are technically a dollar cheaper than paid accounts + extra userpics over here. Premium paid accounts can pay more to get 250 userpics.
  
• Their Diversity Statement is kind of awesome.
  
• They ask their users for feedback when enacting major changes, and generally don't do things that will piss people off.

I'm going to go with B, not because I don't have any particular problem with dreamwidth, but because I personally have no problem with lj. The occasional (although many more occasions recently) notif fails and things just aren't really enough to bother me into wanting out of lj. Also I'm a creature of habit.

And, you know, I literally JUST bought paid for one of my accounts, and even if its cheaper at DW that would still be throwing 30 bucks out the window.

But I love XI too much to give up on it so you're not getting rid of me that easily anyway.
