It isn't light outside yet, but whoever set off the fire drill clearly wasn't taking that into account. Or maybe they were. Who knows. The ear-splitting siren wails across the grounds inescapably - unless sleeping through anything is your mutant power, this is going to wake you up. Even if you're ill. SORRY GUYS.
The Xavier Institute fire drill procedures are as follows. Your character probably knows them, especially if they are a teacher. Feel free to have your character completely disregard them wherever it would be entertaining to do so.
- Proceed quietly and calmly to the nearest exit, following the "fire exit" signs.
- Assemble by the statue in the courtyard.
- Do not run.
- Do not push.
- Unless you can fly or have superhuman durability, do not jump out of a window.
- Do not stop to take any belongings with you that you are not already carrying. Do not attempt to move any belongings out of the building using telekinesis until you yourself are safely outside.
