Working right through the birthdays and holidays

Content: Someone completely forget his birthday in game a few days ago. Reki forgot too.

The easiest way to not worry about things was for Reki to bury himself in his work. The Internet issue had finally been solved, though there remained many more issues unsolved. He had half a mind to resign his homeroom duties with the dwindling numbers. No matter what he did, it hardly seemed like it actually... mattered.
Funny, now he could see the desire to live in a fantasy world. It didn't matter though. Reki still had no interest in escapism of that kind, and the Nexus was gone.
His cell phone ringing broke him from any further thoughts. "Hello? Satoshi Fujio speaking," he answered without any real interest in having a phone call or even looking at the number.
"Happy birthday, Reki!" He recognized the voice on the other end. "We missed you at the Tanabata Festival."
Birthday? Reki looked at the calendar. It was his birthday. Well, that didn't matter. "Balmung?" Reki groaned. "Please say you didn't repeat last year's..."
"Of course not. The players wouldn't be interested in the same thing." Oh dear... here it comes... "We had it in space!"
If anything, Reki would be distracted for a while as Balmung went on about the event.
