I didn't know this was here, s-sob! <3 lovableclover June 11 2011, 07:43:24 UTC
Why was a certain green-haired elementary student up so early? Who knew! Perhaps she wanted to watch the sunrise, or maybe this was the best time to catch fairies before they retired from their nighttime romps.

It certainly was the right time to catch escaping cooks.

"Sanji-san! Sanji-san!"

She ran up to him, not even noticing either the bag weighing down the cook, though she did just manage to perceive the sadness doing the same.

"Is something wrong, Sanji-san? You sure are up early!"

Oblivious to the irony, she looked up at him expectantly.

I'm just glad you're here! (also noticed how badly that last title could've been read OOPS REPOST) love_hurricane June 13 2011, 04:14:10 UTC
It was certainly the right time to catch escaping cook unawares, as the long-limbed man fair enough jumped clean out of his skin. Whatever sadness had been weighing him down didn't prevent him making an impressive arc in the air before landing a good five meters off from the small green haired child. He blinked at the apparition, partway between embarrassment and shock.

"A-ah! Why, hello there, Miss Yotsuba, what a surprise to see you... I'm sure I could ask you the same question?"

He removed his hand from his chest having affirmed that his heart hadn't quite broken out of it yet. "Besides that, haven't I told you before it's dangerous to wander out here by yourself? You really ought to be more careful," he gave a shadow of his usual smile to her, "I'm... not always going to be around to tell you to be."

Yotsuba took a moment to appreciate Sanji's reaction; he was so funny! She laughed as he composed himself.

"Yotsuba's looking for snipes!" she answered cheerfully, like this were the most natural thing to be doing early in the morning. "But... I was being really, really careful! See? I have a flashlight!"

She waved said object in proof, before his last words sank in.

"Huh? You won't? Is Sanji-san going somewhere?"

I had thought of the second factor, but evidently I am far too sweet and innocent for such ideas. love_hurricane June 14 2011, 02:56:40 UTC
"Mm."

The short answer was directed more to the torch than the girl, before the cook set his satchel down and knelt in front of Yotsuba so he was on eye level with her. If he couldn't say it to her face he couldn't let himself leave and call himself a gentleman now, could he?

"You know how Luffy's gone to follow his dream? Being a pirate? Well, I've decided I'm going with him," he chuckled at his own idiocy, "there's a few reasons of my own, but he needs a good cook, not to mention the others."

Once more unto the breach, dear friend! silveradotides June 16 2011, 05:14:10 UTC
[OOC: I didn't know this log was up til... today really! Hope you don't mind one last hurrah for these two.]

He thought he had seen someone familiar moving around below him as he flew about on his board. That yellow hair could only mean one guy, and by the look of the case he carried, the odds looked well into the favor of the cook joining Franky. He knew they had some sort of crazy pirate crew dream they were collaborating on with that one kid with the straw hat that Jim would see bounding down the hallways. Now it appeared it was time to sail on.

He brought his board to the ground but not before drawing the cook's attention by flying past him.

Once more indeed! love_hurricane June 19 2011, 19:28:46 UTC
[OOC: Not at all! Sorry for being slow my internet went down and my real life went up.]

The sound of air snatching the fabric of a certain flying contraption caught the chef's ears before the blur of autumnal colour sped overhead, as Sanji paused just past the gate, looking up with a wry annoyance that was somewhat knowing. Typical. He should have known someone would catch him in the act, and trust it to be that harebrained ass.

Setting the case down on the floor he leaned his weight on his left leg with a hand to his hip, shaking his head up at the mop-haired teen in mock despair.

"You just can't give me a moment's peace, can you."

[Ooc: No apologies needed! We've all gotta make time for the real world!]

Setting the board down to ground, the youth hopped off, and casually double checked the board's engine out of habit. "If it's your last day here at the school, I can't just let you leave without making it a little difficult for ya."

A self confident smirk crossed Jim's face as he spoke. He tried his best to hide it as he finished inspecting the engine, then stood up with his usual stance, his head lowered and his hands in his pockets.

His smirk faded as he looked the swirly browed cook, his tone sounding more thoughtful.

"Franky told me why all you guys are going."

"Mn."

It was an accepting noise. Not a surprised one, not an annoyed one, in fact it was a noise that was rather obviously purposely neutral on the subject of emotions, the cook looking somewhere past Jim's shoulder with a distant expression.

"Well, you know the short and long of it. Always knew I'd be shipping out some day, dry land doesn't suit me." He gave a wry chuckle at the surface beneath his feet that he had become so accustomed to.

"One less pain in the neck for you, eh?"

ACK! HOW DID I MISS THIS!? bigdaddyzgirl June 17 2011, 19:28:19 UTC
[ooc: holy crap, I can't believe I didn't even think to check XI for something like this until now! Is it okay if we do at least a short goodbye?]

Today Charlotte LaBouff was going to do the unthinkable. Something she might never have even done if it hadn't been so important. Of course it wasn't intentional. Now it just seemed so trivial.

Today, she would rush outside without a single speck of makeup on her face. She would be out on display for the whole world to see her with having at least run a brush through her hair.

Running as fast as her bare feet would take her, she already felt a lump in her throat rising. Thankfully she had already said her goodbyes to Chopper, but if Sanji thought he could escape without one, he had another thing coming. Lottie prayed fervently as she ran that she could make it through without either lecturing him, throttling him, breaking down, or all of the above.

"Sanji!" She called out, "Wait! Don't go yet!"

[ooc: Yay! Man...last chat... I feel like you're dying or something.]

Lungs screaming for air and feet protesting against being jabbed by the gravel, she could have kissed him for coming to meet her. Although she wouldn't. That was something in Tia's realm. Nevertheless she was beyond grateful that she caught him and that he was his usual, considerate self in meeting her halfway. Taking a moment to replenish the lost air, she nearly doubled over, before standing upright to give him a stern look.

"Me bein' injured is the last thing you should be worried about mister." she scolded, "Were you really just about to leave without saying goodbye?" She had to be tough. The last thing she wanted to do is become a sobbing mess.

About to go down on his knees to tend to her feet in whatever manner he could, Sanji was brought back to the reality of the situation with the sharp accusation, as he backed up slightly with his hands in the air.

"Ah... well, you see..." Oh dear, he really had made a mess of this, hadn't he? Even with Tiana's consent won, it looked like things weren't as straightened out as he'd hoped.

"I'm sorry, I just didn't want to have to put you all through this," a moment's pause before the truthful; "and me."

He sighed in defeat, the whole thing already unraveled; "I just figured it might be less painful this way for everyone. 'Guess I was wrong..."
