Thanks a lot. I can't tell you how upsetting I always find it that Nichelle isn't in that episode. NuUhura opened up so many opportunities to right wrongs. :D

Oooo!! God, I love all the elements you're pulling into this and referencing Hoshi Sato and her partnership with T'Pol. lol I didn't even watch Enterprise and yet now they seem rather intriguing. i really love a good intellectual mystery and debate and would love to see more.

If only I had the skills to pull this off more consistently. There might be a swerve or two in the latter half, but as the series of stories continue, everything will get back on track.
As always, thank you for reading. I'm pleased I finished the story before posting because reader perspective is so intriguing to me. I'm glad I can interact with you.

I starting reading this very late last night. I just want to say great job! I love the interaction between Spock and Nyota. Her work with the Romulan girl is interesting. That Gathright is creepy and I hope he doesn't harm Nyota. Can't wait for more.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, especially so late at night.
Her work with the Romulan girl is interesting.
This might sound silly, but I was truly pleased to read this line because Nyota Uhura made this breakthrough with the Romulan girl. No one else did. No one else could. As brilliant as Spock is, he simply can't do everything. This is Nyota's calling.

I am loving this discourse on the evolution of language. It is appealing to the psychologist in me and reminds me of "feral" children. Those who have not benefited with the emotional development of touch and are quite literally trapped within themselves. They speak a "language" unto themselves, yet their reactions and emotional states and expressions match what would be considered the "norm" for children who have had natural development...
Fascinating...
(I sound like Spock) lol.

I concur with you and Spock. This is indeed fascinating! As always, thank you.
It took several chapters to explore just the tip of the iceberg. Every book I read made me hungrier to know even more.

This story is outstanding! I can barely keep up with your updates, but that doesn't mean I don't welcome them. The conversation between Spock and Uhura is so interesting, and I love how intellectually curious she is.

Thank you so much for reading this story and leaving a comment. The updates are over for today. If I don't get offline, my husband will fire me. :D
I love how intellectually curious she is.
In my mind, Nyota Uhura has a superior intellect and she's always willing, able and ready to learn more.

"Her excitement was so contagious, his reptilian brain wondered if anything included sexual intercourse.
.... Despite the intellectual stimulation she provided, the physical urge to bury himself within her womanly folds continued unabated."
Poor Spock got it bad, good story roll on the rest!

Thank you for reading and commenting. Spock is definitively male. Having a logical mind doesn't take that away from him. :D

THIS IS BRILLIANT!!!!
Brilliant I say! I declare your genius now!
Ugh. You have officially targeted every single thing I love in a fic.
You make me think about it (The science of language). Break it down, analyze it and apply it.
You make me feel it (Damn that Gaithright I hope he gets beat down)
And SexyTime (cause clearly that is the ID in me cancelling my SuperEgo)
Whew!!!!!

You are far too kind to me. Thank you so much. Admittedly, I did a lot of research because I needed Nyota to be absolutely brilliant in her field. I wanted it shown that she was genius.
This is a first in a series of stories and I hope you'll be around although I am a pathetically slow writer.
And SexyTime (cause clearly that is the ID in me cancelling my SuperEgo)
Yes!!!

I wish I knew a thousand different ways to thank individual readers. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
I also wish I were gifted. Perhaps I am more determined than anything else. I need her brilliance to extend beyond three Romulan dialects, Klingon translation and shagging Spock. I needed her to be known for her work even at such a tender young age. This Uhura is a combination of both versions of this amazing character.

Honey keep writing like this! It's thanks enough. As far as Ms Uhura is concerned,I think you've nailed her.Beauty, brains, and sass. She's perfect.I get so tired of people talking about reboot uhura is bossy or bitchy. She is strong and smart.Nothing scares little boys like a self assured woman. How else would she be able to catch the eye of the hottest vulcan since Surak?

She's perfect.I get so tired of people talking about reboot uhura is bossy or bitchy.
This is precisely why I don't listen to them.
There was one person in particular I wanted Nyota to impress though: my husband. After seeing the first Uhura/Spock scene, he said, "Well, I'm not sure Spock's wife is more logical than mine, but she is more rational." Hah, even he thought Uhura/Spock were permanent.
How else would she be able to catch the eye of the hottest vulcan since Surak?
All's fair in love and war. When it comes to Nyota, Spock is neither overtly rational or logical and it intrigues me that quite a few people missed that part in the movie. So many focus on ship assignment, the elevator and the transporter scene that they ignore Spock biggest declaration of love. Worse, the naysayers try to pretend that she was throwing herself at him when almost every decision he made, good or bad, made it clear that she meant the universe to him.
This will be a featured attraction in next year's big bang. I'm off now to rework the "deleted" scenes back into chapters 9-11 and post them. You deserve more of their story, not my babbling. :D
