I hate thinking Gaila is dead. Nyota deserves a non-human, non-angst-ridden friend!!

Best.Gaila.EVAH!
This is an amazing compliment! Thank you. She is an amazing character and she is truly fun to write. I don't believe I've ever had such pleasure (as in fun) writing a non-original character.

You ain't lyin'. Pussy is power and that's a universal truth. That doesn't mean you have to go out and ho around...but you DO control more than you think.
And if more women understood this concept...
It reminds me of how sex is taught to women in many different cultures. The "women's knowledge" so to speak.
Reminds me of Frances Cress Wessen and the "Isis Papers"
I feel like I am back in college sitting in classes with Dr. Dennard and Kobe K.K. Kambon!

Amen.

There should be a book (written from the perspective of the various women/cultures in question) and it should be required reading!!!

Yes, we can!!!

OMG! I loved this so much that I cheated and went to your LJ page and read the rest of it. I couldn't wait for you to post it! This is a fantastic story. It is exactly what I was looking for. It is sexy, exciting, funny, and realistic. There has got to be more!

Can you see me swooning? Thank you so much for reading this lecture that's valiantly trying to pass itself off as fiction!
The version on my LJ page is not the most current. That's being posted here. Many of the changes though were subtle. Others were big like a change in POV or me reinserting Gaila-scenes. There will also be a change in the ending because I'm contemplating the sequel.
I write slow because I'm not a natural storyteller. It's truly a labor of love. You and the others have given me such a terrific pay-day!

that's also an interesting take on IDIC. so does Spock think that the Vulcans who looked down on him and contributed to him leaving are on a path to Romulan-hood? lol

Spock hasn't yet expressed his feelings about other Vulcans yet. I'm sure he will for the sequel. He'd better because this was a deleted scene and he forced me to re-insert it! :D

I intend for Nyota's classmates to come forward in the sequel. I'm sure the Betazoids have quite a few things to express. ;) I loved Deanna Troi's mother.

I'm not truly comfortable adding so many OCs to Trek, thus, I intend to bring forth as many TOS characters as possible. I wrote a scene with Number One and Captain Pike. They were so amazing, I was afraid I'd end up writing their story instead. :)

ha, i love a tortured Spock! but i'm glad he's trying to put some distance between them. for Uhura's sake. also, i appreciate the 3 posts/day, because i try to keep up with this comm every day and sometimes it can get busy with more than one author, so it can be alot to read all at once.

You're a master commenter! I envy you this!
I don't mind torturing Spock just a tiny bit because life is about surviving a series of upheavals. It is also nice to give the Vulcans a break. As I am pro-Vulcan, I have no desire to blame them solely for Spock's emotional conflicts. ;)

I hope Spock does not have Ponn Farr cos if he is bonded to T'Pring he will have to go to Vulcan and marry her. Unless in your AU he has no bondmate, if so he broke up with T'Pring or vice versa?

This Spock has not informed me of his other "obligations." I have many many male friends and after lengthy discussions, it was determined that one thing (in their minds) had nothing to do with the other. T'Pring can't be excluded at this point.
On the positive front, it isn't Pon Farr. Just basic lust. ;)

Re: Tension. All writers should give their characters a chance to breathe and to speak for themselves. I'm mostly just the typist here. Nyota and Spock are telling their own stories. The comments I receive from readers like you makes me realize just how privileged I am. Thank you.
