I must be losing my touch as a retarded Paul Bettany fan, because my family went out to see Inkheart tonight and I hadn't even known he was in it.

So his sudden appearance wearing nothing but tight black jeans, with shoulder-length blonde hair and delightfully jutting hipbones juggling flaming torches was a DELIGHTFUL SURPRISE OMG OMG.

Ooooh. Yum. Bettany.

Is it wrong that, to me, he has always been and will always be "Naked Chaucer?" Cos that's where I first saw him. And, y'know, naked + poetic is nearly as good as hockey when it comes to making me love someone.

<3 Someone in the movie swears "by Chaucer's beard" and I cracked up. Naked Chaucer *might* have been the first time I'd seen him, but he's since become a number of other things, all lovable. Like Stephen Maturin, and weirdly enough the tech administrator at my high school. He looked *just* like him, and had this fabulously dry sense of humor.

But yes, Paul Bettany. <3 <3

Paul Bettany as a fire-eater? I must see this.

And yes, much love for Stephen Maturin. Who totally was gay for Aubrey. Hell, my mom saw that.

A wiry, shirtless, slightly grungy fire-eater. Mmnnn.

<3 That movie had some of the least sub- subtext I've ever seen, and the books a thousand times moreso.
